smART was formed in January 2021 at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) by Dimitris Maronidis as part of the Electronic Music courses offered at the School of Music Studies. The main incentive of smART is to initiate, diffuse and promote the artistic work of AUTh students and support the realization of bold artistic ideas. The group’s research interests are focused on the creative use of music technology; primarily the creation of experimental computer-based art spanning from pure electroacoustic works to complex sound installations and interactive systems. The format of the group, as well as its specific artistic endeavor, is determined during the course of each academic year. By encouraging collaborative work between students of different backgrounds and levels, we are aiming for the sky of innovative music creation!
